  1. Yes. For a sentence to be correct, there needs to be a subject, predicate, and a complete thought. This gives you an independent clause.

The subject is the noun- in this case it is 'we'

The predicate tells one what the subject is doing; therefore, it includes a verb- in this case it is 'intend on going'

A complete thought- you can not say, 'Although we intend on going to college.' This is not a complete thought due to the dependent marker 'although'.

This sentence has all three of these elements; thus, it is a correct sentence.

    Hope this helps.

  2. We intend to go to college next year.

    Reason:

    intend to

    intend for

    intend by (which means 'mean')

eg:What do you intend by this word?

    which means

What do you mean by this word?

    Examples using for and to

    --------------------------------------...

    1. What do you intend to do?

    2. We intend them to do it.

    3. This book is intended for you (means This books is to be given to you).

  3. yes, grammatically correct.

  4. Drop the "on". It adds no additional  purpose to the meaning of intend and is superfluous.

  5. the sentence wud b rite..if tht 'on' is replaced by a 'to'..

so tht it becomes.."we intend to go to college next year"

  6. Yep! Sounds about right!!

  7. Informally, yes.  But In formal written English (Standard Academic Discourse), it's wrong.  Instead it should read:

"We intend to go to college next year."

Reason?  The verb "to go" is following the verb "to intend."  Therefore, the verb "to go" should be in its infinitive form.

Informally, we often use the verb "to intend" incorrectly and put the preposition "on" after it.  Doing this necessitates the use of the gerund form of the verb (in this case, "going").  Of course when you say it, we all understand you.  But if you want to get nit-picky, it should be the sentence I've phrased above.

  8. We intend going to college next year.

Our intention is to go to college next year.
