Is this setup ok for 5.1 speakers?

Question

Basically I want to know if it's worthing going 5.1 if I place my speakers this way. Ok I want to place two beside my monitor, that little one behind or underneath my monitor and the last two diagonal of me. Is this setup ok for 5.1 or am I better off going with a solid 2.1 setup.

Note this is for my pc, hence the positioning from my chair.

Ideally, the speakers should be positioned so that each is the same distance from you (the listener)...Picture this:  if you were sitting in the middle of a clock, the center channel sould be at 12:00, the left and right would be at 10:00 and 02:00, and the surrounds should be at about 8:30 and 4:30...

As far as if it's worth it?..That's up to you to decide...If the source is just your computer and some streamed audio, stereo may be just fine...If you're looking to listen to movies with audio specifically designed for use with surround - go for it...
