Is this showing affection?

I recently bought a horse but he lives in costa rica. I only visit him for the entire summer. When I lean or stand near his stall door, after he notices Im there, he comes up and smells my hair and stands next to me and won't leave unless I do. Sometimes he breathes on me and if I don't notice him he grabes my shirt with his lips and lightly tugs it. Is he showing affection?

  1. yes.horses r like small children they love attention and if they don't get it they'll do things like tug on your shirt to get you to play and talk to him

  2. yes this is showing affection. horses "play bite". they mostly do this when there trying to get affection back or want attention. dont scold him for the play bites because he is not trying to harm you he just wants some love.

  3. Yeah, it is showing affection! He likes you.

To show him that you love him back, breathe very gently and warmly into his nostril--this is horse talk for "I love you." I do it with my horses and they always warm up to me more and relax.

  4. Yes I have fifteen horses..... I am planing to teach rideing lessons I just rescued my 15 horses
