Snowboards are built for different conditions and riding styles... You won't be able to tell if a board is "good" for you from a website description.  You should get your snowboard deck based on which conditions you plan to ride in (e.g. powder, park, groomed trails)   If you are a beginner, you probably won't be able to tell the difference between a really expensive board and a cheap one.

While you are shopping around, the main points of comparison are 1. Length 2. Stiffness 3. Sidecut (shape of board) 4. Condition (if used)

Your best bet is to go to your local snowboard shop and demo a few different boards and see what you like.

p.s. there is no "best brand"

Im not too sure but I suggest getting a Burton board or a Ride
