I like open places and very closed off places, but the thing is, I don't like being around people, I can be in a field but if there is a person a hundred feet away, I don't enjoy it. I don't panic. I do want to live in isolation if not with a few people I might know.

  1. Its only agoraphobia, if going into public, or being around people actually scares you. If it doesn't your probably just a hermit in the making.

  2. Being surrounded by people makes me feel very claustrophobic and harrassed.  I think it's because I just like my own space.  Indoors, outdoors doesn't bother me, but if there are other people there, I feel self conscious and I hate being in crowded places or when you feel you're being watched.  Probably just cause I'm a loner lol.  I always have this dream that, magically, everyone I like in the world will be somehow shipwrecked on a desert island, but until then, you just got to get along, to get along really :-)

  3. I have to steel myself to be around large numbers of people.  I'm fine with up to six or so people, but over that, I become uncomfortable.  I'm okay in arenas or sporting events, but a crowded grocery store will drive me nuts.  I think it's the noise and confusion as much as it is the crowds.

  4. No - because agoraphobia is a fear of leaving the home.....you do want to get "out and about" ---- sounds more like a social anxiety type issue to me -- which is much better than agoraphobia....you can get help.  Do you have problems with people for a reason do you think?  Did you go through something traumatic or did someone hurt you bad and you find it hard to trust people?

  5. This just sounds normal.
