Is this something I should see the dr about, or just deal with it?

I am 21 and my right knee sometimes gives out on me when I'm walking. There is usually no pain associated with this but it has been happening more and more often. There are no signs that it is about to happen so unless I catch myself, I usually end up on the floor. Since it doesn't hurt, I'm wondering if it would just be a waste of time to go see the dr. or could something be wrong that is causing this.

  1. Well it is not normal, and you are falling.

    Yes, do see your doctor.

Also, try some Orthotic inserts... pharmacies carry them. Not insoles, orthotics.

  2. That doesnt seem normal. I say "Go see a docter."

  3. If it's causing you to almost fall, something needs to be looked at.  You may have a torn something in you knee or a small free floating bit of tissue inside your knee that gets jammed at just the wrong time, causing your knee to give- those conditions may not cause any pain, but falling down sure might- plus you might really s***w up that knee.

    Check with a doc.

  4. Sounds like ligamentous laxity. Cruciate ligments or meniscal injuries are most common in football players. Nothing to worry... See an orthopedic doctor and a physio.
