Question:

Is this something I should worry about after a C-section?

I had my baby via C-section on July 24th. My pain faded away 2 weeks after the C-section. I woke this morning in extreme pain, it starts in my lower back on the right side and travels around to my abdomen. I'm not running a fever or anything and my bleeding stopped about a week ago. Is this normal after a C-section or should I go to the doctor?

  1. I would call your doctor ASAP..you may have an infection starting and even if it is normal it is better to be safe than sorry.

  2. I had 2 C-Sections and never experienced anything like you are talking about. Make an appointment with your doctor ASAP. It's best to check and receive medication if you need it now rather than down the track; especially with a small baby to look after. You need to be feeling in good condition

Be sure to mention to the doctor if you are breastfeeding if you need any medication.

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

  3. I've had 3 csections and have not had something like you are describing, but if I did, I'd put a call into my doctor right away just to be sure nothing was wrong....or left behind!!  no kidding, but i would definately call my doc if i were you.

  4. I think you should call your doctor. It may be scar tissue.

  5. I would go to the doctor if I were you. I  had 1 c-secion and that didn't happen to me.All I had was itching on the cut and that was it.

  6. I think you should be concerned. I didn't have any pain like that after I had my C-section. I had some pretty bad pain in my lower stomach if I stood for any length of time, though. That was when my organs were shifting, though.  That may be what you're feeling, too. That pain lasted a couple of days and after that, all I experienced was soreness. If you're in extreme pain, go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.

  7. If it's extreme pain, you should see a doctor.  That's definitely not normal, especially over a month post-op.
