...can I continue working on the project you assigned tomorrow? Just in case he asks...

I am completely drained! I feel like working on something that takes much less brain power. I only have 45 minutes left.

  1. say may i continue working on the project you assigned tomorrow? i dont feel so well. and i want to put my full effort, and power into this project to make it my best work.

  2. If you took time out to get to this site and ask the question, then maybe all you need is a tea break.

  3. I think you have the right idea just maybe the wrong words.

Try something like could I have an additional smaller task I can work on in between this larger one. Sometimes it helps me keep focused if I can work on multiple things rather then one project for a long period. I will be able to finish up the larger project tomorrow.

I think that gets your point across but not that you are tired or burned out...something like that might just have him sending you home and telling you not to come in if you are too tired. But then again you know your boss best. Good Luck!

  4. I would just do the work. Your boss wants the work done. You don't want him to view you as a slacker or complainer- you want to be seen as a capable, confident employee who can get the job done well and on time.

  5. So, you're at work but you're asking questions on Y! Answers?!?!?

And you want to ask your boss if you can do even less work?!?!?

  6. YOU SOUND LIKE A DRAMA QUEEN, IF YOU CANT STAND THE HEAT, GET OUT OF THE FIRE

  7. umm hes gonna get mad

  8. finish that and after try to r fix this problem between u and him

  9. he gon be like OMG janet, i told you no sleep'n on da job! janet!

  10. hmmm I don't know if I would word it like that, but I think the general concept is o.k. Hopefully he is understanding.

  11. It depends on your boss and the situation.  If it is not detrimental that it is taken care of today then I see nothing wrong with telling him that you need to walk away from it before you mess something up (if that's what you are worried about).

If it needs to be done today I would stick with it.

  12. It depends.  If you have a good record with your boss as a hard worker who always does well and finishes projects on time, sure.

But remember, the person who gets ahead is the person who goes beyond what is required.

  13. If you have only 45 minutes left to finish a project and you want to cut early, why are you wasting your time playing on the computer and asking questions here?

  14. it depends on your boss, mine would say yeah no prob, just tell him your stressed and your trying your hardest but you dont feel like you can do a sufficient job if you rush to finish it today

  15. Your boss will not like to hear you quit.  Always give it your best.  You get off in half an hour.  You can hang.  Then go home and relax.  Pool, workout, book, bf.  Good luck.  You can do it!

  16. Do you have a dead line for this project? If so, as long as you meet the deadline there shouldn't be a problem. I don't think I would say "I am completely drained! I feel like working on something that takes much less brain power"

  17. We all have our limits, including your boss. If you're sure you reach yours, be sincere, costs what it must cost, but talk to him about the subject. First you need some good relaxing, meditate and take it easy. When we're near our limits, we use to say things we can regret later.

    Good luck.

  18. I would just explain that you're drained & that you want to be able to give the project the attention it deserves.  Also mention how you have some other ideas you're thinking about, that you'd like to "sleep on" for the night, to see how they could possibly improve the project.  That should be professional enough.  It shows that you care about it & are commited to it, but lets him know that you need a small break at the same time.

  19. Depends on the deadline he gave you. If you are expected to have it tomorrow then you must finish it today, if not put it off until tomorrow. If you have so much to do why are you on the internet?

  20. Yes!!! I would! Unless you have an a~hole boss, they usually are more understanding than you'd think!

afterall....he/she is a person just like you, just explain it to him/her. If it's not ok, just put in half a$$ed effort then for your last 45 minutes!!!

  21. just go get coffee use the bath room BS a bit on the way.....poof your 45 min are up go home.

  22. That really depends on what your boss is like.  My boss wouldnt have a problem, because she absolutely loves me.  Then again, i am only 17, so for me to ask something like that wouldnt be out of the question.  Kids are lazy these days >_> But if your seen more as a professional adult, then i'd probably just finish the project.

Theres so many variables *sigh* sorry if this doesnt help.

  23. not unless your dad is your boss...even then I would not
