i learned in school that the first early americans came from asia and i was born in america so am i part asian or what?

What you probably learned in school: When mankind spread over the world, the first path that lead to America was via Asia. The first humans to go to America came there from Asia crossing the Bering Strait when it was covered with ice.

This does not say anything about your personal ancestry. It may well be that all of you ancestors moved to America recently from Africa. Since Europe was explored via Asia too, most Europeans are part Asian in some way.

Everybody has two parents and four grand parents ... if you go back 20 generations in history there are about 2 Million ancestors. In the long history of mankind people have thus mixed a lot. So it may well be that everybody is part Asian, i.e. has at least some ancestors who lived in Asia, but this is just my own speculation.

However, there is good reason to believe that a man living in Africa about 60000 years ago is the ancestor of all living men (see reference for Y chromosomal Adam). So, everybody in the world is part African.
