I am looking to buy Logitech R-20 2.1 Speaker System, and it gives out relatively low watts than other speaker systems out there.

Technical Specifications

o Total FTC power: 12 watts RMS

Sub-woofer: 6 watts RMS (into 4 ohms, @ 100Hz, @ 10% THD)

Satellites: Left & Right: 3 watts RMS x 2 (into 4 ohms, @ 1khz, @ 10% THD)

o Total Peak power: 24 watts

o Frequency response: 40Hz - 20kHz

o Drivers:

Satellites: 2" high excursion driver

Subwoofer: 4" high excursion driver

o Speaker dimensions (H x W x D):

Satellites: 7.75" x 3" x 3"

Subwoofer: 7.5" x 5.5" x 6.25"

o Signal-to-noise ratio: >70dB

I don't know if that is good enough.

I am not going to throw house party or anything, I just want to listen to music decently loud enough so I can actually feel the music.

How much do they compare with 200 watt total speak system?

Thanks for reading.

  1. its mint get it

  2. you aren't going to "feel" very much with those. The 10% THD is pretty bad.  THD=Total harmonic distortion.  My home theater reciever for example is .01% THD.  It means at higher volumes you will have pretty bad sound.  As far as computer speakers go they might be OK but if I were you I'd look around a little more.  You can probably find some pretty good speakers at a good price.  You asked about WATTS. The watts a speaker can handle are only a small part of the overall picture. BUT If you do buy some speakers that have a little more power you most likely will be happier because they will sound better because you aren't going to be pushing them hard as a weaker set that you have to crank the volume.  I would say get something a little more powerfull 70-110 watt range they shouldn't cost too much and you will be happier
