Is this sprinting concept true?

Is it true that for every inch more flexible you are, you knock off .1 seconds from your sprinting time?

Any links proving or disproving this would be great thanks

  1. Speed is a combination of stride length and how many steps you can take within a given time.

If your stride is too long then you can not take as many steps and if the stride is too short then you take many steps, but don't cover as much distance.

Flexibility is important, but it does not determine your speed.

Just because you are more flexible than someone else does not mean that you are faster or slower than they are.

Once you can stretch beyond the normal range of motion any additional flexibility does not have any impact on the movement of your limbs.

Speed is more about strength rather than being flexible.

  2. thats funny, then a gynmast should hold the world record in the 100M then, they are really flexible.

There is muscle flexiblity, muscle stregth, muscle endurance, heredity , equipment, facility, technique and training.... nay otgher things tooThat's what makes you drop time off of your sprinting
