  1. Correct, The Attitude Era was loved by everybody. There were a lot of DX segments, Rock segments and Stone Cold and Vince. Attitude Era is probably the best time in wrestling

  2. in corect because the attiyude era was the best it had cursing funny moments i was worked alot on promos but they wer good promos the attitude era is way better than now adays in my point of view

  3. I know for sure I'm going to get a lot of thumbs down because mostly everyone grew up into the attitude era.

I believe it's slightly overrated. There was a lot of promo's and backstage segments, but there were some quality matches. During the attitude era, they added more drama to the promo's and segments due to the heavy ratings war with WCW. Before the attitude era, I don't think there was a lot of promo's or backstage segments. Before the attitude era, I found it more just interviews for their match and straight to wrestling. During the attitude era, they put promo's and segments on heavy. I mean think about it, D-Generation X/Nation of Domination, Stone Cold/Mr. McMahon, Stone Cold/The Rock, and others were highly used on promo's and segments. The matches were more toned down after the post attitue era (the era before the attitude era).

The fans who grew into the attitude era would disagree with me and they would say that most talent was pushed. Yes, most talent was pushed into matches to actually have some kind of impact on the ratings. With all those wrestlers under contract in WWF, they needed to use them, since match cards were short. There was also some jobbers that I can't recall on naming, but of course there were jobbers.

Again, I'm sure I'll get a heavy load of thumbs down. I've been watching WWF/E for nearly 15 years and I admit that the attitude era is slightly overrated. As I stated, the feuds with Austin/McMahon lead to alot of segments, D-Generation X had a lot of segments, The Rock/Austin had a lot of segments, but they all had matches so don't get me wrong. If you have really noticed, even till this day, you still have a lot of promo's and segments than wrestling. The only thing is the attitude was toned down and now WWE is going into a family oriented/people friendly approach.

    I end it here.

    T.T.

  4. Correct. Yes, as much good as the attitude era did for pro wrestling, its did equally damage to the business. True we finally got Vince McMahon to (in his words) "stop insulting our intellengence" and give more mature storylines and characters, but we paid a great cost in sacrificing actaul wrestling matches. Because everything was so storyline centered we ended up getting short matches full of spots and extreme finishes. Techinical wrestlers suffered the most during this time as they were labeled as boring and stale by the attitude era.

  5. False.  I can't see the biggest money making era in wrestling history as overrated.  It produced some of the biggest and /or most beloved stars in WWE history such as The Rock,Stone Cold, Mankind, HHH and DX,etc.  Taker was in the adolescent stages of his greatness and only grew greater.  Mr. McMahon as one of the greatest heels ever made his debut amd feuded with stars such as Stone Cold (the one that started it all) and taker.    It was a time that will most likely never be repeated.  Some of the most memorable matches and tag team feuds came out of this.  There was Taker vs Mankind h**l In A Cell, The Montreal Screwjob, Bret Hart vs Stone Cold I Quit mATCH,etc.  The Hardyz vs The Dudleys vs Edge and Christian or any variation of the 3.  The Hardcore Title matches got cray and entertaining.  Things were edgy and the most entertaining they've ever been.  It was a time of originality, unprediactability, and unparalleled excitement.  Overrated?  No.  Never to be equalled is more like it.

  6. INCORRECT, the Attitude Era was THE greatest ERA in the history of the WWE/F. The matches were awesome and so were the feuds. Those were the days to  remember. THere were a lot of classic matches and feuds. I bet most to all real WWE fans wish the WWE was still like the Attitude Era was. Now we are in the PG Era. It did have lots of segments but that is also what made it so great. If the A- Era came back ratings would go flying off the charts AND THAT'S THE BOTTOMLINE CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!!!

  7. Correct.  A typical RAW broadcast opened with a Vince McMahon 10-minute promo, followed by The Rock or Stone Cold doing 10 minutes, then whichever one didn't already promo would now promo with Mick Foley for 10-15 minutes.  A quick 3-4 minute throwaway match followed by an Eddie Guerrero 10-15 minute skit.  A couple more quick throwaway matches then a Chris Jericho 10-minute promo.  Then a decent-to-good match, a DX 15-minute comedy routine, then the main event, which if we were lucky might last 10-minutes.

Maybe a slight exaggeration but there was really very little wrestling on TV during the "Attitude Era".  The storylines were less absurd and mostly pertained to wrestling and feuds, granted.  But there were far too many 10-20 minute skits and promos.  It was not uncommon for there to be only ONE match during the first hour of RAW.

For those who wanted Vaudeville (up to and including the pie to the face) the "Attitude Era" was very entertaining.  Skits, comedy routines and vignettes aplenty.

For those who wanted wrestling, the "Attitude Era" was very frustrating.  Very little wrestling on TV because of the skits, comedy routines and vignettes.  Wrestling matches were saved for the PPVs.  The PPVs were generally well-done, as far as the wrestling matches went, but they only hinted at wrestling during the TV shows.

  8. like you said it had good matches stone cold and rock had to do with most of it . It did have alot of backstage segments like  somebody beating somebody up or talking trash

  9. False, yeah it did have plenty of promo's and backstage segments...and like you said there were plenty of good matches. The difference in those segments is that the majority of the time they had a good purpose, and were actually entertaining as opposed to the segments shown in recent years.

The reason is a lot of the wrestlers in that era had great mic skills and charisma..and the segments were entertaining and they built up the feuds..which led fans to want to see the matches. That was the bottomline of the segments.

So overrated, no..I think it just had the most charisma out of any era.

  10. it is not correct. yes it had a lot of promos and backstage segments, but thats what made it the additude era.
