Question:

Is this strep throat?

I recently started fasting for Ramadan, so I haven't been able to drink water for most of the day.

Yesterday, I started getting pain in my throat when swallowing, and when yawning. My nose is a little runny too, and I get constant urges to sneeze (but nothing comes out) but those are the only problems I'm having that I can actually see/feel.

My mom said I might just need water, but I drank a whole water bottle when I was allowed to eat but it didn't help.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, but I wanna know ahead of time what I can expect to hear.

  7. Sore throats are often caused by a runny nose.  Could be symptoms of a bad cold.  Try an over-the-counter medicine that stops runny noses for now.

Have someone check the back of your throat with a flashlight.  If you see white spots or bumps, it may be strep.  Redness would indicate a sore throat, which you already know you have.
