You see, I am 16 and I get drunk I'd say on average about 4 times a month. Other than drinking at parties I have an occasional serving of whiskey or a beer for the soul purpose of quenching my thirst. Is this that unhealthy of a drinking pattern for someone my age?

  1. depends who you ask

American: YES U WILL DIE AND GO TO h**l< YOU ARE KILLING YOURSELF DONT DO IT

Rest Of The World: no its not bad , drink up little one

  2. beer is the best for quenching your thirst specially when its hot out side and its beer is good I'm polish and we drink a lot by the way russian drink most alcohol per person there are number one in drinking vodka in the world like one gallon per person or more i forgot how much it was they drink

  3. yes, it IS a problem.  Why don't you try and see how long you can go without taking a drink.  If you can't make it without the overwhelming urge to drink, you may need to seek help.  Alcoholism is a disease and should NOT be taken lightly.  Good luck.

  4. Yes but what the question is how much do you drink in those four times a month?? Alcoholic assessment claims 3 or more drinks in a sitting is on the merge of an alcoholic problem. Do you drink to get drunk? Have you been irresponsible from drinking? Do you have black outs?? Do you forget things from the night prior after drinking? Are you hung over every time the next day after drinking? Do you ever feel guilty after drinking? If you have ever answered yes from either of those questions, you are at risk for being an alcoholic. Not a safe road to be on in the future. You put yourself at risk for DUI's-worst situations to ever be put in. What does occasional serving mean????? Answer that to yourself. Sounds contradicting to me on this question with your provided facts. I think you are questioning because of feeling guilt and knowing you may have a problem or developing a problem or worried about developing one later in the future

Just be careful. I'm not going to sit and preach to you.  There is a difference and being a responsible drinker and an alcoholic. Besides you are a minor and it's against the law to drink or be served alcohol under the age of 21. If you are caught or the people who gave it to you are caught, you all will be busted. For example you are driving home after a party and you are pulled over by a police officer because you forget to use your turn signal or your head light is out, the officer smells alcohol on your breath. You would definitely have to expect hand cuffs on your hands and be able to tell them where you got the alcohol from. So your friends would be in trouble too with the law. Be smart and make good choices, not poor choices.

  5. Yea, thats not the best thing for your body.  You are way to young to be drinking to quench you thirst.  I understand that your 16 and your going to party, but seriously you shouldnt be drinking the whiskey and beer just for the heck of it.

  6. well lets see, DAAH ! dont drink that much! i bet by the age of 21 ( when u officially would be able to drink) you'll already have some health problems because of drinking!

  7. Yes. What did you think that people would say? Getting drunk is not good for people of any age. Iif you are thirsty, drink water. Did I drink when I was 16? Yes. It's tough to resist when you're in college. Did I sometimes get drunk or sick? Yes. Did I allow that behavior to continue past my freshman year? No, I'm not THAT stupid. If you are asking about your drinking, I don't think that you are that stupid either.

  8. Yessir, very unhealthy.

  9. what do you think dumb-***? there is a reason why alcohol is only meant for adults and not you kids, grow up fool

  10. Yes. It's a good idea to ask yourself why you feel the need to get drunk 4 times a month. If it helps you forget things you don't want to remember or feel better about yourself, you may want to look into counseling.

  11. thats an unhealthy drinking pattern for someone of any age. just especially your age. first, youre underage. second, alcohol is just unhealthy. i would talk to a guardian, or doctor. you have a serious problem.

  12. Oh heck to the yes (I don't want to swear). You are well on your way to becoming an alcoholic if you are not one already. Getting drunk 4 times a month plus drinking at parties plus an occasional serving of whiskey or beer to quench your thirst, wow. How often is occasional? How often are you thirsty?

At this point you don't want booze, you need it and there is a difference. Need is an addiction, want you can do without. Do you know there are alcoholics who only drink on week-ends? Never touch the stuff weekdays. They are called Functioning Alcoholics. Many are CEO's, COO's and CFO's and do a great job at work. There are alcoholics who drink to the point of blacking out while wide awake. If they killed somebody they would have no memory of it. You have happy alcoholics, nasty and mean alcoholics, abusive alcoholics and crying-jag alcoholics. For personal reasons I have no compassion for any of them.

You can't quench your thirst with water, soda, juice, etc.? And, you are only 16? I hate to see what your liver looks like. Get help while you still HAVE a liver. We only have one you know. There is a reason why you drink like this. Find out what it is. I would never say "You're too young" simply because there are 11 and 12 years old alcoholics.

Google Al-Anon and good health to you.

  13. If you want to quench your thirst, drink water.

It's okay to drink at parties.  Your biggest threat is drunk-driving.  Get a designated driver.  Or, you'd be amazed at how easy it is to get a cab.
