Please Watch entire Vid and tell me This dude ain't the best in the Sport.........This is why Mayweather Retired!!

  1. bad on bad

  2. he may be since he's the most famous undefeated fighter. I'd love to see him against Oscar de la Hoya who would give him everything he can handle

  3. David Tua, armed with devastating left hooks, Holyfield used him as a dummy mike Tyson before their bout because he knew they pretty much were the same.

  4. No. Miguel Cotto does not scare the sh*t out of people the way Mike Tyson did during the 1980s.

Tyson's opponents were scared sh*tless way before they even got into the ring with him. And Tyson had KO power that should have been against the law. Tyson didn't need to wear down his opponents, he just needed to land one punch. His punches didn't even have to be clean punches, and they would send his opponents down.

Miguel Cotto doesn't have these qualities. If anyone has these qualities right now, it's Kelly Pavlik.

  5. I would say Vitali Klitschko, he's supposed to be coming back, so I count him as active boxer, he has the power and many boxers dont want to see him, thats in heavyweight view, I would also say Kelly Pavlik, nobody wants to see him pound for pound

  6. No boxer in the sport today has the quality, especially not Miguel Cotto. The first answerer got it right. Mike's opponents were scared before they even got in the ring and Miguel Cotto is not all that powerful, especially to be comparing him to Mike Tyson. Oh yeah, although Kelly is a good fighter, he doesn't possess that quality either.

  7. I don't know about Cotto being as feared as Iron Mike but I would like to take this time to say I do think Cotto SHOULD be feared by people within his weight class. He is a completely different kind of beast. With Tyson and Pavlik and every other one punch KO specialist, you were afraid of the big shot coming and when it did you went to sleep and woke up with a bad headache for a few weeks. I feel that with Cotto, you get absolutely beaten to pieces over a period of time. He breaks you down with well timed, well placed, PERFECTLY executed punches. I have never seen any boxer do what he does so efficiently. All that said, I think he has glaring weaknesses also, his chin is suspect, and his defense is at times non-existent...not a good combo. I think he has the potential to be GREAT, but hes not there yet.

  8. No Miguel Cotto still has a long way to go before he can be considered as fearsome as Tyson, Iron Mike terrorized the heavyweight division for three years in a manner that hasn't been seen since the days of dempsey, louis and liston, Cotto for all of his good qualities does not put that kind of fear in his opponents, he does not knock people out in a matter of seconds and his skills are not exactly out of this world either, even at welterweight there were boxers that were a lot more fearsome than cotto, like tommy"the hitman"hearns and hagler, cotto has not done enough to be compared to guys like that much less Mike Tyson.

  9. I think Cotto has been the baddest boxer out there for a while now. He's steadily got better and better. To say he isnt that powerful Matt, jeez. You see what he did to Malignaggi's eye socket? you seen them body blows? I think he's got more power than ANYONE in that division.

Of course he isn't as scary as tyson. Mainly because tyson was a bit of an idiot. A thug. Cotto is a boxer, he bad mouths no-one. He's always very respectful. He wastes little energy and I think he does his intimidating in the ring.

He has lots more tricks in the bag than Kelly does. Kelly is very one dimensional with his movement. Put it this way he's the only fighter who I get butterflies in my stomach when his next fight is announced.

It's quite ridicolous to expect any 147 man to have the knockout power of a heavyweight. He still punches like no other in his division.

Ron D : Vitali Klitschko? please. They heavy weight division is a joke. He's the best of an extremely bad bunch.

  10. Manny Pacquiao is the baddest m-fer out there hes cleaned up the best fighters in his weight class. And going after more of boxing's top names.

  11. I would disagree on a few point.

Remember Mike Tyson in the late eighties was more a puncher-boxer. He was also small for a heavyweight, although powerful. Most of his knockouts were from combination punching, not one punch knockout. It was when he started to believe that he could live on the one punch knockout that he started losing badly, because he let all his ring skills erode.

I would also disagree with the assessment that Miguel Cotto isnt intimidating anyone anymore...thats just not true. I think he got the attention of everyone when he took Paulie Malignaggi out of his game and made him completely afraid to throw any punches at ALL.

Cotto, pound for pound, hits harder than anyone in their weight division. All you have to do is see the damage he is doing to his opponents. For all the knockouts that Pavlik is doing, he isnt beating his opponents into different shades of black and blue. Jermain Taylor's face wasnt too bad when he got knocked out.

I have a feeling that if the win over Antonio Margarito is decisive and one sided...you will definitely start seeing the fear.

  12. Not sure that I could pick the best there are many good ones out there. I do think that Oscar de la Hoya is one of the top boxers.
