  1. h**l yeah both are fighting for a playoff spot.

  2. If the yanks are gonna make the playoffs, they have to start with a sweep this weekend. sox lead wildcard right now...

  3. i love my yankees but they are in trouble i think at a minimum they need to win two out of three; and hope chamberlain and hughes get back within ten days. we have to gain the games head to head; boston is going to beat most teams; so we have to do it now.

  4. They need to take at least 2 of 3. A sweep would be great.

  5. Hello, Janet.

It is major, but not a deal breaker unless the Yankees GET swept, which I don't see happening. I expect the Yankees to take 2 of 3, but if they lose 2 of 3, it won't be the end of the world. It won't help, that's for sure. But there's still time. They need to take at least four between Boston and Toronto this week/weekend.

I would be downright giddy if the Yankees swept the Sox for a number of reasons. The first being that beating the Red Sox is ALWAYS good. The others are that it would pull the Yanks closer to playoff contention and it would be nice to close out the last Yankee Stadium series against Boston with 3 W's.

  6. Heck yes this is an important series. If they want to seriously want to be in the Playoffs the time is now to beat the Sox & Blue Jays this week.

  7. Probably not actually. It is HUGE but if they do what i expect them to(win 2 out of 3) then it really wont mean very much. If they are still in the race the biggest series for the yankees will be the final 3 games of the season against the redsox. They will play at fenway for a spot in the playoffs if things go the yankees way.

It will be by far the biggest for the yankees. THIS one is also huge because they could lose contention if they lose 2 or 3 out of 3

  8. Yes, this is make-or-break time.  If they win all 3 games, they will be back in the wildcard hunt.  If they lose any of these games, they are done.
