I have been having contractions for 6hrs now. They are all the same intensity, coming every 20mins. I tried to go to sleep but they kept me awake. I feel fine, just on an average of 20 mins, it tightens and i feel the creeping pain that comes and lasts about 20seconds then leaves. I have hemorrhoids and they just got worse in the last 3 hours with no bowel movement... I don't want to go to the hospital straight away, I would like to wait it out till I am in active labor. Does it look like I may be having my baby in the next day or two. I am 39wks and 5 days.. No water or show, just contractions...Thanks

  1. I wouldnt wait to long, the same thing happened to me and I had a dry birth,There wasnt any water to be broken,so they had to induce my labor so there wouldnt be any stress on the baby.If you go to the hospital now they can check you and the baby out,see whats going on and you can get all checked into your room and get ready for the new little person! You can always walk around the hospital also,Hey... good luck momma!!!

  2. Oh yeah.  Call your doc and let him know so that he knows what's going on.  You'll be meeting your baby very soon now!

  3. Yeah it sounds like your in the early stages of labor. Your may want to go into the hospital this evening to get checked. If your around 4/5 cm they will admit you, break your water and get things going! Congrats sounds like your bundle of joy is on it's way! Oh by the way don't count on your water breaking, I have had 3 children, and my water has never broke.

  4. I was walking around the mall while I was in labor,I was only 3 Cm's when I finally decided it was time to go to the Dr. I was feeling contractions though about 10 times an hour, and none super hard. But it was enough to open my cervix to 3 CM. I had her 5 hours later!

  5. that's exactly how my labor started with my daughter. the contractions never stopped, and eventually got stronger and closer together. i endedup having her about 24 hours after my contractions had started. give your doc a call and let them know what's going on!

    congrats, good luck!

  6. Atleast call your doctor let them know what's going on, they may advise you to go atleast get checked out. If they are infact every 20 minutes and regular, then they are probably real contractions and delivery will probably be within 24 to 48 hours. Try to walk if you can (if you're dilated at all this will help the process tremendously). But i would say you're well on your way and it won't be long.
