Is this the end of the American Red Cross?

The American Red Cross is now bankrupt for only the second time in its history. Some people blame the sluggish economy for reducing donations but others say that the Red Cross makes poor financial decisions.

Whatever the case, do you think the Red Cross will rebound from bankruptcy or is this the end of them? Will something else come around to replace them?

  1. You need to get your facts right.  The American Red Cross is not bankrupt.  Bankruptcy means something entirely different. It is their disaster fund that is gone and they are borrowing money to cover the floods. I'm sure they will recover in donations, but when you have disaster after disaster, it takes time for the income in to exceed the payments out.

I think both are true. Both the economy and poor decision making, but I'm not faulting them on the disaster efforts they have made.

  2. 1. the article mentions nothing of bankruptsy.

    2. mentions nothing of a sluggish economy.

    3. mentions nothing of poor financial decisions.

Get your facts straight before you accuse them of filing chapter 11.

  3. It will rebound.

Next January, when, for the first time in eight years, an AMERICAN takes the oath of Presidential Office and turns this country around.

  4. I hope the Red Cross survives its only around to help people,, from teaching CPR to giving blood and helping disaster victims, its a shame theres not more things like the red cross but in todays world everyone cares about money and themselves

  5. red cross is a joke!!they take and take  now there broke!!someone got rich!!

oh and by the way China sucks and nobody should watch the games you loser!!

  6. Nothing in your link says anything about bankruptcy. It says their disaster funds are depleted. I'm sure that has much to do with the Katrina hurricane.

Those people still have their hands out years later.
