This child has been there & done it & now wants people to learn from his mistakes. Can't local community services train such children (sadly, i'm must be many) to testify that carrying knives is neither 'big' not 'safe'.

  1. Use those joke knives that spring back into themselves.

Then perpetrators can vent their anger by 'stabbing' the victim without any serious harm being done.

A bit like an executive stress toy.

  2. i say bring the army in to patrol the black spots where there has been no end of killings and root our these gangs that is the only way we will stop this sense less killings some thing has got to be done the police cant do it all on their own, and for get about the p c brigade

  3. best solution is to ban knives and don't make anymore

  4. it is one of many tools which need to be used to get knife culture out of our kids. Some kids will look up to these people as heroes so these "heroes" can adivse them to stay away. Others may think that they are just wimps and quitters.

  5. The only way to stop ANY crime is - for such criminals to be put in prison and then each morning one prison officer would come in and get one offender out and that offender never to be seen again.  That would cure them all.  But it just would not happen because all the do-gooders would not allow it to.

  6. no they should bring hanging back!!!!!

  7. Knife killers should be DEXTER'ED!

  8. One thing he says that disturbs me is that he says "I don't believe in regrets."  and also, by not apologising makes it sound like he is not sorry he did what he did. By showing such a lack of remorse I wonder if he should have been let out of prison so early?

  9. I wish it was, but knife crimes are becoming part of youth culture in most western countries.

The only way to change this, is to change people's hearts & minds.

I am glad one boy has realised his crime.

Perhaps he should be employed by the Education Dept. & go to high schools. He could speak to all the kids in their morning assemblies.

I believe they would listen to him.

  10. Set a thief to catch a thief...... but not in this case I think.  What stands out here is the fact that this boy served only 18 months in prison for murder. This sort of sentencing is no deterrent whatsoever in the fight against the knife culture which has resulted in so many pointless deaths.

Equally I don't think that friendly persuasion or appeals to better natures (if they exist) will work. This approach has failed miserably so far and we now need harsher prison sentences to be the norm.  At least if they are banged up they cannot continue their killing sprees.

I think that most people in the UK are fed up and frightened about all this violence and savagery and want to see stricter sentences imposed.  it is only our Government that seems happy with the situation as it stands at the moment.
