Yesterday, I get my new pair of eyeglass (-1.0), the lens, it made out of crizal, although the Ad says tha it is Scratch Resistant, mine got scratch when i simply wipe off the dust (i know the dust made it). Crizal says its anti reflective, anti smudge, and anti scratch, but i think the anti scratch feature was not... can i demand for a replacement?

  1. Crizal is actually one of the best Anti-reflective coatings available. The Alize is the second version of it, which incorporates a hydro-phobic coating as well as a static guard to help keep them cleaner longer. I'd be willing to bet it was scratched when you got them and you didn't notice. It takes more than a little dust to scratch Crizal. Anyway, it carries one of the best warranties, which is usually life of the prescription, generally 2 years. Bring them back and they should replace it no problem.  Keep in mind, nothing is scratch proof,or anti-scratch. All products are scratch "resistant".

Anybody who sells something with the statement "scratch proof" is a fool. Glass lenses will scratch under the right circumstances.

  2. The anti scratch coat is certainly there, but it is under the anti reflection coating.

It shouldn't be a problem to have the lens replaced, they must have at least a 1 year warranty.

You should ALWAYS rinse the lenses under running water before wiping them with anything...that would have removed any particles on it.
