Question:

Is this the reason Evangelicals are wanting an end to the world?

Have they created a religion that has made everyone so miserable that they can't take it anymore, and they want the world to end?

Now, the Golden Rule was not so bad. Preaching the Golden Rule would have brought happiness (the abundant life as described in the Sermon on the Mount).

But unfortunately, the Sermon on the Mount was dumped and replaced by a blood gospel that came from Paul/Saul, who was the one who terrorized the people who had accepted the message in the Sermon on the Mount (Acts 7:58 to 8:3).

So is that the reason Evangelicals want more war and are waiting for the end of the world?

  1. What are you talking about?  "Evangelicals" today aren't what they were supposed to be... and Paul did what?

    Um... state your sources.

  2. No.  Evangelicals simply believe all the Bible.

  3. I don't know about that, but I agree with your point regarding the Sermon on the Mount.

Paul and his apologists have a lot to anwer for. Jesus, as far as we know, wanted radical change in the religious beliefs and practices of His day, but wasn't interested in personal power.

Paul, on the other hand, was a megalomaniac, and he laid the foundations for Chrsitianity to be the tool of megalomaniacs for centuries to come, even into the present.

  4. The whole "End of the World meaning Rapture for Believers" idea is

due to misinterpretation of the book of Revelations, and not because

of Paul's teachings. Personally, I think that if people are naive enough

to think that the world may end at any time they would also be naive

enough to part with lots of their money via contributions to their

church. After all, if the world could end at any time, who needs money?

  5. That's an interesting theory.  It is amazing how so many of them are SO excited and so eager for the end of the world.

  6. What!  Have you read the epistles of Paul?  I hate Evangelicals as much as the next guy.  But he was a pretty descent dude after his experience.  He also suffered a great deal.  Punishment I guess.

  7. Define who an evangelical is anymore.

As for Paul, are you ignorant of the fact that God inspired him to write the other scriptures? Even Peter recognized the authority given to Paul, mentioning his writing.

God used Paul to further explain, not to divide, as some people in our day are seeing it.
