Question:

Is this the reason why people gain weight after losing it?

They figure since they lose all the weight, they wanted that they don't have to excercise anymore or eat right or what are the reasons why people gain weight back.I am not trying to be one of those people.

    or if people deprive themselves of nutrients or take too little calories, and then add on some calories to maintain theyre weight, because they deprived themselves the body stores the food as fat.


  2. In order to lose weight you have to undereat. Some people when they stop undereating tend to overeat again so gain weight. Also it takes time for a metabolism to settle doen to its new weight and eating plan after stopping the starvation mode when it slows so may be slower initially than it will be later. For this reason eating should be gradually increased when the target weight is reached and only increased further if you continue to lose weight.

    Also people who diet too quickly can mess up their muscle to fat ratio so end up with a slower metabolism than prior to starting their diet.

    The reason weightwatchers diet works is that encourages gradual but steady weight loss then takes you to a maintenance diet to keep your new figure - its not so much a diet as a way of life.

  3. My trainer says people become bored after reaching an acceptable weight and then stop. This throws your metabolism out of whack and the lack of exercising causes the calories to turn to mush instead of feeding the muscles.
