Is this the resurgence or emergence of a dominant Australian Rugby side?

Obliterating the frogs, awaiting the challenge of the Springboks, than the AB's, who we certainly don't fear at all and actually 'lift' to the local derby, for Rugby supremacy. Are the Wallabies only going to go from strength to strength?

  1. Obliterating the French & getting on top of the Springboks or the  All Blacks are 2 different things. We would need to see a good win against the All Blacks where there was  a solid defensive game for the word supremacy to be even thought about.

Kearnes is starting with a young side & is certainly pointing them in the right direction, especially with their kicking game but I think it's still early days yet. Let's hope you're right though.Go Aussies!!!!

  2. No, the French forwards are just as sh*t as yours.

Whenever you get a good set of forwards competing against you, the Wallabies inevitably crumble like the limp wristed convicts they are.

Before you cry racism for me calling you 'convicts', please remember that you referred to the French as 'frogs.'

  3. Wow, Australia obliterated the French B team.

Australia's forward pack is a joke and their backs are useless without George Gregan and Stephen Larkham.

This looks like a cakewalk for the All-Blacks.

By the way, even Wales can beat the France and they can't even beat the Fijians.

  4. NO. The Wallabies will have to improve allot if they were to beat the Boks and All Blacks. This French side was a disgrace to rugby. I see record hidings for the Aussies in this Tri Nations. Clearly you do not know your rugby mate.

  5. As I've said in another question, the results against the French have to be taken into perspective. Considering the French league finished the same day as the first test against France, they were missing a lot of their first choice team. Plus the french players that were there didn't seem to care. Whilst Australia have improved a lot, I don't think they'll match New Zealand or South Africa.

  6. I don't think the Aussies really can jump at anything yet, because from what I can see the scrum still isn't strong enough.  Dont get me wrong mate I think they are well ahead of where they were at this point last year and with a Great not good but Great Coach this side will only get stronger.  Truely a great platform for Aussie Rugby and once they can organise the tight 5 they will be not only knocking but kicking the sh*t out of NZ & SA door.  Backs are looking good but I think Tahu would set this side alight at 2nd five.  Limits the kicking options though but attack and defensively would'nt hurt your chances anything!!!!

  7. strength to strength?...the wallabys?.... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ..........yeh right!

  8. Too early to tell yet mate, lets see how the trinations pans out.

It's di<kheads like you posting questions like this that give all of us Aussies a bad name. Why not keep your mouth shut and wait until you actually DO have something to crow about?

One thing that does need to be changed in the Wallaby pack is the front row, particularly that useless piece of s**t Al Baxter. I'm amazed that Robbie Deans has held onto him. Glad he's given that other useless fat piece of c**p Matt Dunning the boot though.

Seems to be a lot of mis-informed answers in here. Makes me realise why I don't come into this section very much any more.

Hey "lensta", are you still a first grade referee???

    LMAO @ you cuzzy bro...

"Warrior princess" looks like a wealth of rugby information - I'll give you a hint love, Kearnsy doesn't coach the Wallabies, he commentates on Fox Sports these days ;-)

  9. They have definitely turned the corner in their forward play and the backs seem to have an added dimension. Add in Dan Vickerman to the mix and this pack will go very well. Horwill and Mumm and wonderful young forward prospects but will take two years to be world class. Expect the Wallabies to win the Trinations in 2010 not 2008.

  10. The Aussies look better than they did last year...but the Boks and the AB's both looked really good...so too early to say mate....

Beating the northern hemisphere teams isn't the yardstick you should measure your dominance...wait to see how they do when they play a tri nations match

  11. Early call mate.  They have only played 3 games under the new coach.  Ireland weren't that impressive and France were understrength because of the late finishing domestic competition.

Let's see how they go in the Tri-Nations.  If they get smashed would you still be saying the same thing?

And the Wobbly scrum is still a big worry ...

  12. Jumping the gun a little i think mate.

Beating an under-strength French team is nothing to get all worked up about.

Remember 2005?  Put 37 points on the French then went into the Tri Nations and lost every game?

  13. you can compare the relative strengths of the blacks and the boks because not only have they played each other, but they have also played the best in the world.

untils the roos face either the blacks or the boks we cant definitively rate thier performance.

france is good. but they arent tri nations good.

i daresay after watching that blacks/ boks game that either of those teams would have beaten france by the same score. that was an intense game.

  14. The only good Aussie is Giteau.
