If I want to be an OB/GYN - Fertility Specialist. Should I major in biology?

  1. No.  An OB/GYN is a doctor, so you would have to major in Pre Med and then go to medical school.

  3. You can major in anything, English Lit if you wanted to, as long as you take all the courses required for med school admission. Since most of those courses are in Biology and Chemistry, many people major in these fields.  Check with med schools about required courses. Specializing comes after med school when you do your residency.

  4. There is no particular major that is a prerequisite for med school. Although, there is a major called Pre-Med, you can apply to med school with Biology or Chemistry as a major.

    You should definitely check the courses required by the Med school you intend to apply to upon completion of undergrad and make sure your curriculum covers those courses.
