Hours of softball, endless heats of rowing events, virtually no track and field, hardly any weightlifting, martial arts and other less mainstream events - wheres the variety? Theres not even a good daily roundup.

  1. i think it is good in my personal opinion you just have to turn the tv on at the right time

  2. Simply stupid. Imagine you are the network programmer. You know there is huge interest in the Australia v USA basketball and you know what time it starts. You decide to show the softball!

Then when the basketball game blows out, do you cut to the 5000 meter race with Mottram - na. You wait til 11.50pm to show a delayed coverage.

This is pretty much the standard every night. They re not even capitalising on the advertising, as half the time when they cut back from an ad we must endure minutes of slow motion intros showing unknown athletes splashing water to music - it is insane!

We never know what is happening next, or when..

you have to wonder who is in charge of this - professionals! you have to love them

  3. dont forget to add 10km swimming. Im so excited

  4. Overall channel 7 is pathetic during Olympic viewing (I hope the supporting advertisers lose credit for channel 7's disgraceful viewing of the Olympics) and i hope in future channel 7 gets there act together or it is handed over to channel 9 or 10. This is not America we don't need to see an Australian win gold a million times over with the same replay. just show the win, report it later on the news with a replay(ONCE). It will be on the herald sun obviously don't waste our time.

  5. Use your red button, there's a great variety to choose from.

  6. Channel 9 has the rights for the next olympic games in London...hope they do a better job than 7.

  7. I don't have many complaints, I like Jenny Finch, I've watched plenty of female divers shower, and I've got most of the women's Beach Volleyball Tivo'd, I've enjoyed my Olympic experience this year.

  8. kettle 24, i agree

how the heck did shooting become a sport?

" hunny, im gonna go shooting, i might need a good meal when i get back from all the strenuous exercise and thinking"  etc etc

okay yes you need skill and good eye co odination but seriously, might aswell put hunting as a sport.

i think the scheduale has been pretty good. if you cant find your event thats is so called "mainstream" search up the times they are on.

hey i have to watch the equestrian ( horse riding, showjumping, eventing, jumping, dressage) at 11pm to 2am in the morning, but i love it so much not to care!!!

  9. It's been worse in the States.  We had several evenings of Michael Phelps mother and half an hour of discussing how Michael was picked on in school.

  10. SHOOTING, WTF ITS NOT EVEN A SPORT, LET ALONE AN EXITING ONE!!!

  11. I think they must be broadcasting the events where most of the people from a particular area are likely to do well. You're seeing lots of softball and rowing. I have only caught 20 min. of rowing, & no softball at all. So far, I have seen tons of swimming and diving. But there is so much beach volleyball that I want to puke. I have seen tons of gymnastics too but it is so varied that I stay interested in it.

What I really want to see is weightlifting, fencing, equestrian, kayaking and all the things I don't normally see on TV. Just because my country isn't going to medal in those things doesn't mean I don't want to watch them. In fact, my favorite Olympic moments are when a contestant from a small country comes out of nowhere and gets a medal. I love that.

  12. The coverage has been awkward, but I like that NBC streams the events you care about live online.  You can even watch events that you missed.

  13.

i  think  that  the  TV coverage  of  the  Olympic games  are very good  and  informative -,= here  in Canada -  i  have  the  daily  choice  of  at least  4  TV stations  to  watch  the  games .24 hours  a day .--  also  each  news broadcast  on  its  sport show  gives  you  the daily news  of  the o-games  also,

my  only  complain  is  the  boxing ,.== how  can  a  boxer  who who won the 2. + 3. + 4. round  on points  loose  a  boxing match - just  because  his  opponent hat gained  more  points  all  together  in  the  1. round  of  it,s  fight ? == there  is  something wrong  here .

  14. "Hours of softball" ???? - before today there has been virtually no coverage of the Aussies in the softball ! A couple of minutes here and there, that is all!

I agree though that otherwise Ch 7 has been pretty poor in the way of variety.  At least this week we have not been hounded with constant replays of swimming !

  15. i love it myself, but then again i dont know what country you are talking about

  16. I think so, yes, I really do.
