They have come close sooo many times in the past. Could this be the year they break the curse and go all the way? If so, who will they be against in the World Series?

  1. yes, hey bob barker up there if i remember correctly the brewers just got swept by the cubs recently. and they thought they were going to do well. lol lol   brewers suck.    Ps  It will be the cubs vs. angels

  2. Ok, one problem, you have the Cardinals, in late August start of September, they will be in full strength, with Adam Wainwright, and Mark Mulder both back, giving the cardinals the great solid pitching rotation they need.  Also Ryan Ludwick, Albert Pujols, Troy Glaus, and Skip Schumaker will hold this club up, also the great Yadier Molina will keep runners from stealing, and back it up with the fewest strikeouts in the league.  The bullpen struggles a bit, but when La Russa finally realizes that Izzy sucks, and puts franklin in the closer spot, then Spring in the Set Up, and McClellan in the 7th inning duty, you have a dream team.  The Cards will pick up the NL Central, or at least the wild card, and then kick the cubs out, and they can handle the phillies.  They go on to the world series, play the red sox, and show that they deserve it, with a sweep.

  3. This is the year for theCubbies...

They will play the Angels....fall behind in the series and come back in dramatic fashion to finally WIN!

  4. i am also a dye a hard cubs fan and i know they haven't won for a 100 years and they won in 1908 so it would be cool. there are two problems one there bull pen sucks bob howry is the worst pitcher i have ever seen and there only good person is kerry wood who is there closer and pitch very long.Even though they have some strong starters they can't go into overtime. The second problem is that the cubs have the d backs phillies to worry about right now.If they beat those teams theyprobably  will face the red hot rays or the best team in the leauge the angels so they are going to have to work really hard

  5. no it isnt, they always say it's the year but it never is. GO BREW CREW.

  6. Most likely, altough i hope the yankees r gonna win it all.

  7. No chance.

  8. yes!!!!

  9. Yes I think it is, with the acquisition of Rich Harden, the Cubs have four solid starters in Zambrano, Dempster, Harden, and Lilly. Along with power coming from Lee, Ramirez, Soto, Edmonds, Derosa and Fontenot, as well as excellent hitting and baserunning from Theriot and Fukudome, not to mention the back end of the bullpen with Kerry Wood, Carlos Marmol and Jeff Samardizja. There is really only two teams that can contend with the Cubs come playoff time, and those are the Phillies and the Mets. Nobody will come out of the NL West to the NLCS. The Brewers don't have a good bullpen, which hurts them come October. The Cardinals don't have the pitching either. The Marlins just don't seem to click. The Mets and Phillies scare me, but if the Cubs can handle them, I see the Cubs reversing the curse this year!

  10. I think it is, but we can't get ahead of ourselves.  It's gotten us in trouble so many times before.  We just need to take this one game at a time and hope it ends in a World Series title.

    World Series prediction

    Cubs vs. Angels

  11. No-

  12. Don't forget how sorry the Cardinals were in 2006. Wainwright could be there closer again if Perez doesn't work out.Carpenter looks pretty sharp. Ludwick got N.L player of the week. Pujols is healthy. Glauss is always a threat. Arron Miles (boy can that guy be a pain at times?) .Hands down they have the best defensive catcher in the N.L.

There's still a lot of baseball to be played The Brewers haven't rolled over and played dead yet. The Cubs can win at home but not exactly so great on the road.

I still think the Angels are going to be there.in Oct

  13. Yes....but it's too early to predict..

Probably we can start predicting when the playoffs starts.

  14. To lose yet again.

  15. No, it is not

    GO BREWERS

  16. Definitly. im a chicago cubs fan and this is the best ball team ive seen in a while with derrek lee, alfonso soriano, and aramis ramirez. there stating rotation is also awesome with zambrano harden dempster and lilly. this is definitly the year for the cubs

  17. It's all depend on one guy: Bartman.

  18. at one point i thought yes,but im beginning to think its still not their year,i see the phillies in the world series

  19. Cubs are having a great year but just have to wait & see what happens in the play offs but my personal opinion is they don't make it to the World Series

  20. I sure as h**l hope so, but I'm trying to keep my emotions in check right now.  My wife is going to have a hard time being around me come playoff time.  Highs too high and lows too low.  She hates that.
