  1. No,

he should have gotten more jail time.

  2. some people deserve to be hit evan if they say nothing, but it is against the law to hit people.

  3. No, what happened to your friend is probably not all that horrible.  Afterall, your friend could easily do a lot more jail time than 2 days.  Although I would agree that the victim should not be calling the defendant names, you cannot justify assaulting someone when all they are doing is being verbally abusive.  You can only meet force with like force in order for it to be justified.  You can take a gun to a knife fight, a fist to a fist fight, but not gun to a fist fight and not a fist to a verbal argument.

  4. No, IT IS not CONSIDERED TO BE TOO MUCH. You never heard the usual phrase STICK AND STONE CAN BREAK MY BONES BUT WORDS CAN NEVER HURT ME....you said the only fault these guy done is calling him terrible or horrible things or names and that is why he punched him. That is not a excuse to hit someone for calling us bad names. Why he didn't simply walk away from there and take a walk but instead HIT THE GUY.

Your friend should be charge appropriately, maybe your friend is too huge compared to the other guy that is why the charge sticks. For me 2 days is not enough maybe a week would clear up his mind or even his attitude towards hurting another person. Weekly drug test is for me not enough maybe a monthly drug test would help that person a lot. 10 days house arrest for me is also NOT ENOUGH, he should be place on 25 days house arrest.

PUNISHMENT is not place to really punish us but to give us LESSON that we should either follow the law or face the consequences of our action. WE SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY WITH EVERY ACTION WE TAKE in our daily lives.

  5. No even though words can be hurtful you should never hit someone unless they hit you first.  Then it is called protecting yourself.  Although the person may have deserved it.  Thats just how it works.

  6. So you figure it's OK for guys to go around assaulting people. Wouldn't be too many people hanging around in public.

  7. No its not too much. Your friend obviously never learned "sticks and stones..."

I have worked homicides that resulted from someone "just hitting a guy". Either the fight escalated or the victim fell and as a result died.

Your friend is lucky this is the only punishment he is facing.

Tell him to grow up and man up.
