I was offered a job as a bidder for roofing and remodeling company. The compnay specializes in insurance claims to repair hail and wind damaged exteriors. The money is commission pay but I'm told I will earn 100k or more this year. What is the catch?

  1. Yes it is too good to be true, you need to be experienced in what you do, aggressive in your sales and work about 20 hours a day, maybe you might make that sort of money.  Most of these jobs that sound wonderful are not because you don't get any leads, you have to do cold calling and so on.  You probably don't have anything to lose doing this job, just don't plan on making any $100,000 a year.

  2. When I first got in the insurance industry they told me that most people make 6 digits and more than half of he agents make $250,000+ a year.  What they didn't tell me is that most of the agents makeing $100,000+ a year have been in business for 5 years plus and for the first couple years, they made less than $20,000 a year.  I would assume you would have to be working like a dog to make $100,000 a year with this job.  If you didn't have to work hard, why isn't everyone doing it?  Or why did the last guy leave such a sweet gig?

  3. $100K on commission?  Yeah, and I'd like to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge.
