Is this too many?

We are celebrating our daughters first birthday Saturday so that our friends/family are off work. When I started making out the list of people who we wanted to invite there were almost 50 people! For each child(ren), we included one parent!! Most of the people are family however. His parents are each remarried. So we have step-sisters, and their kids!

I just think there is quite a few people, am I wrong??

  1. For my daughter it was just grandparents, great grand parents, aunts and uncles.....beyond that is overkill.  Your daughter will NEVER remember.

  2. She'll only turn one once. Celebrate. Be happy so many want to be there for her.

  3. we had 53 ppl *show up* at my daughter's first birthday - there was nearly a hundred invited (he's west indian = huge family, both immediate and extended).

we just had a big dinner at a chinese buffet - good time had by all, since we pretty much took over half the entire restaurant.

  4. its fine! its great that this many people want to celebrate your daughter's first birthday!! just have fun and put out PLENTY of food!

  5. That's fine. Hubby has a huge family, and then my family, our kids parties are usually a bbq lunch, and there is a heap of people there & we only invited family & close friends.

    Can't help having big families.

  6. No its not

  7. If you do not want that many people there then make the list shorter..you can sort by immediate family and close friends, and people who have children.

  8. Its great you want to make it such a big party for her first. Its not too many. Its wonderful :)
