If I jog for 30 minutes a day, but break it up into 2 sessions of 15 minutes, and then later do 30-45 minutes on the bike is that too much exercise. Plus sometimes I go on a 30 minute walk with my mom.. not all the time maybe 2-3 times a week on top of what I already do. If I work out this much will that start burning muscle? And is it true that you start burning fat after 20 minutes of exercise? Thanks!!

  3. We can't really answer "is it too much exercise".  Only you can.  So if you can tolerate that, then its fine.  But if you're overexerting yourself, then you need to calm it down.  It is not true about the last statement.  Running at a steady pace without breaks will actually make you gain weight.  You need to do intervals.  Try running at the highest speed possible for 20 seconds, stopping for 5 seconds, and keep repeating.  As I like to say "you have to trick it to kick it".  If your exercises are repetitive, you won't see any results on the scale. So, I have came up with 2 ways that you can shrink the fat. First, walk for 5 minutes at an easy pace to warm up. About 4.0 on a treadmill. Then speed up to 5.0 for 10 minutes, which will lengthen your stride. Increase your pace again- go to 6.0 for 5 minutes. Do walking lunges for 1 minute. Repeat 16-minute walk-jog lunge sequence. Cool down at whatever pace feels good to you. It should take about 37 minutes in total. If you decide you want to stick to that, you can amp up your speed over time.  If you don't have a treadmill though, try marching in place pumping your arms for 2 minutes. Do knee lifts for 2 minutes, bicycle crunches for 20 seconds, shadowbox for 2 minutes, mountain climbers for 20 seconds, skip in place for 2 minutes, do jumping jacks for 20 seconds, and complete circuit for however long you want. Cool down at your own pace. That will take 23 minutes.  And they each burn about 250 calories.  :)  If you don't think you're going to be able to commit to that, then run for an hour one day, bike for an hour the next, do an exercise video the day after, and just keep mixing it up.  Good luck with your weight loss!  :)
