Is this too much.....or not??

i run vista and have 36 programs installed which combines for 509 megabytes.

is this ok?

i have a 500 gb hard drive with three gb of memory, i am very picky what i put on my pc, don't want to clutter it up.

what do you think??

  1. First of all let me congratulate you for managing to have vista and 36 program's installed into such a small amount of disk space....

  3. Well the number of programs and the size doesn't really matter much.

    its the type of programs you installed.

    - you should have at least 30% free space on your drive for the OS.

    - run anti-spyware applications and do cleanups all the time.

    - please let one of those applications be an anti virus.

    you see you could simply download one of those p2p sharing programs that is filled with ad-ware/spy-ware and that single installation will be worse than a thousand clean installed applications.

    also one more thing

    use run> msconfig> startup

    its true you have 36 applications installed but you don't need them all running in the background, you can untick the applications you don't need that will prevent them from running on OS startup.
