So I use biore face wash almost everyday

and I am going to get a face moisturizer

and a face scrub

is it too much products on my skin? How many times should I use the scrub and moisturizer?

I also have one more question...

I've heard people say that when you use the scrub (they used aveeno apricot scrub that they are scrubbing away layers of their skin) So I am on the fence on wether or not to get the scrub.

Personal experience and advice needed :)

  1. I think it's fine, although don't use the scrub every day. Only a few times a week, since you are basically scrubbing away all the dead skin cells, and it could irritate your skin if you do it too much.

I haven't tried it, so I can't say whether it's good or bad, although it's good to have a scrub, so get it(as long as it's not by like a dollar store cheapo brand)

My fave moisturizer is by Clinique. It's the dramatically different moisturizing lotion.

  2. apricot scrub is good but don't use it everyday. i use it on wednesdays and sundays. for the rest of the week i use a foaming face wash. after you wash your face wait ten minutes, and if you skin feels dry and tight use moisturizer

  3. apricot scrub is good, I love it! if you use the cleanser you really dont need a scrub too, just use one at a time, maybe scrub in the morning, cleanser at night, but moisturizer is ok all the time if you need it

  4. I dont know about the scrub stuff, but any Aveno product is recommended by my dermatologist. She gave me free samples of all the Aveno products. Its expensive at walmart. About $15 for any product, but it works! I have the moisterizer w/ spf 15 and it moisterizes my skin, never looks oily! I also use the Panoxyl soap bar.( which she also recommended) You can get that stuff at wally too. I used the bar to wash my face, than the Aveno afterwards. My skin never looked this good!

  5. Wash your face in the mornings and at night before going to bed. I recommend you never skip this step, it is essential for clean , clear skin. I like Biore. Id also recommend Neutrogena, or Loreal Pure Zone.

Find an astringent, tonic or lotion for after washing your face. something that's not too harsh on your skin, and always find the right product for your skin type. If you've dry skin, look for an hydrating lotion, if youve oily skin and acne or frequent breakouts, try an astringent.

Apply moisturizer after that. ( i recommend Dual Action Moisturizer by Clean & Clear, but again it depends on your skin type, this is for normal to oily skin, maybe oily T zone only, and some breakouts)

This should be your routine for every morning and every night.

And i really like st. ives' apricot scrub...but dont scrub too often!

like every two or three weeks would be ok, if you scrub too often, your skin starts to produce more oil and you may break out.

and the same goes for body scrubs.

Also be sure not to scrub the area around your eyes, since it is the most sensitive skin in your face, and the most wrinkle-ish.

I hope this helps and that you find the right products!

  6. You want to cleanse and moisturize twice every day (morning and night). For the face scrub, if your skin is not too sensitive, you'll be fine using it once a day. If it's a gentle scrub, you can use it twice a day.

The scrub is for exfoliating. When people say they're scrubbing away layers of skin, technically that's true. They're scrubbing away layers of dead skin cells -- that's really the point of exfoliating. However, you can easily exfoliate using a wash cloth, so it's not too necessary to get the scrub. You can look for products that cleanse and exfoliate instead of trying to find a separate product.

I used to use the Apricot Scrub for my body. Don't know if they ever made one intended for the face though. Make sure it's made for the face before you use it on your face.

I currently use all Mary Kay products, so that's what I would recommend if you don't mind changing up what you use. You can find a Mary Kay rep in your area (www.marykay.com) to get a free facial -- try the products and see if you like them.

And just to reiterate, you should cleanse and moisturize twice a day. Also, make sure you're protecting you skin with at least SPF 15, even on cloudy days.

  7. hey, can i ask you something?

what is the biore facewash for?

  8. It is best to just leave your face the way it is. Too much chemicals on there now will mess with your face in your later years. Just wash your face with soap and water every morning and night.
