Question:

Is this too scary for Halloween?

I know it's early, but me and mom have great ideas for decorating.

Last year, we had the scary video from "The Ring." The one that kills you, play over and over again on a small tv that played inside the window that's in front of our house and had a chair just sit there and it's was so cool! We had a lot of complements.

This year we wanted to step it up. We were thinking of putting a fake body in a chair and fashion it to look like and electric chair. We would put a strobe light in there to give the effect of electricity and like the "body" was moving and stuff. It would be in the room that has the window in front of the house.

Question is, would this be too scary or inappropriate? Most of the really little kids go when it is still early in the day so we wouldn't have the body set up since the effect only works in night light. Should we do this or not? Thanks for all input!

  1. wow thats a great idea

  2. It doesn't sound to scary. Just don't put it near the curb where EVERYONE can see.

  3. i think thats  COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  =]

  4. It would be even better to have someone sit in the chair and do a little playacting - the trick-or-treaters ring the doorbell, and the electric chair is right inside the door - the strobe turns on and an electricity track plays on a CD - the person in the chair convulses like they're being electrocuted, then appears to die, but stands up a minute later to give the kids their candy.

I love Halloween myself, and always do a lot around my house. Using people that can move and act makes everything scarier, keep that in mind. If you're worried about scaring little kids, talk to some of the families with younger children and just tell them that you're planning on doing such-and-such beginning at this time so they can plan ahead if they think their kids will get scared.

  5. i think you should, for sure!

halloween is a time for scary decorations and scaring people.

and plenty of people disregard the fact that their decorations are too scary for little kids and have them out anyway.

i say go for it, that sounds like an awesome idea.
