I have a frog guide, and it tells me that Gray Tree Frogs are perfect for an aquarium like I have. But I was wondering if normal frogs bite you, are they poisonous? And do they have vicious teeth?

  1. No No

AND NO you shouldn't handle your frog (or any amphibian) more  that absolutely necessary

due to the salts and chemicals on your skin being absorbed through there skin which in turn may make your pet ill or lower its immune system

  2. The odds of one biting you is minuscule. Though they are not poisonous, you should always wash your hands after handling them, because they do secrete things from their skin. Handle your frog as little as possible. Frogs do not enjoy being held and it is very bad for their sensitive skin. Frogs have very weak teeth meant for gripping prey, but they are not sharp and do not hurt.

  3. No frogs really bite or its very rare there is nothing to worry about and have fun keeping him!!

  4. I love gray tree frogs! I had a pair a few years back but they mated shortly after I got them and since they were wild caught from my area I figured it was best to let them go instead of keeping them. They are wonderful, I don't really care for frogs much but I liked these.

They were a bit vocal sometimes but I found it cute. and they were very easy to hold (especially since they were wild frogs) I've never been bit (by any frog), And no they're not poisonous.

Not sure on the teeth thing, like I said I don't care for frogs much, so I don't know that much about them my interests are in snakes and lizards mostly.

I hope I've helped some even though I can't give you all the information you need.  I miss my frogs now lol.

  5. no that not true i have 5 of them i know for a fact that is BS  they cant posison you they dont have vicious  teeth

  6. No they're not poisonous, and no they don't have vicious teeth (they don't have teeth at all), and yes the Gray tree frog is a good choice.

Frogs that are poisonous don't deliver the poison through a bite like a venomous snake does, they secrete it through their skin as a defence to keep from being eaten by a predator. If you live in the U.S. (where the Gray tree frog is from) then you've got no worries, the U.S. has no poisonous frogs. Even the poison dart frogs that are imported lose their poison in captivity.
