  1. There are areas in the Congo and in Kalimantan (Borneo) that have been uncharted but not necessarily unexplored. From checking on the internet it appears that Kalimantan has more uncharted areas than the Congo. Uncharted meaning surveyed and mapped. Everything I read used the term uncharted. Reference made to unexplored were very outdated - back in theearly to mid 1900. I found only one good article discussing unexplored territory still existing and that was dated 1965 (National Geographic).

Animalism and head-hunting could still be found up until the end of world war 2 in the remote sections of the jungle in Kalimantan.

The above poster is correct with the idea that the most unexplored area on earth is the oceans. Approximately 95% of the ocean is unexplored. They cover more than 70 percent of the surface yet remain as one of Earth’s last unexplored frontiers.

Here is a good site about 'Alvin', a submersible vehicle capable of diving below 2,000 m.

  2. Well it depends on which Congo you're talking about.

If you're talking about the Republic of Congo then no, but the Democratic Republic of Congo, then maybe,(I'm not really sure if it's the MOST unexplored habitat on earth

It has a varied flora and fauna.

It's in civil war and turmoil right now so many zoologists, botanists, ornithologists can't  go there to study them,(too bad).

    So maybe it is.

But I say it's the deep ocean.

    Very unexplored, unexploited.

But the Congo territory might be the most unexplored place on land.
