Is this true about gas prices in California?

My friend's mother said the gas prices in California

(near los angeles area) may raise up to 10 dollars

in a couple months?

Is this true?

& If it is, can you give me a resource that says that?

If it's not, could you give me a good reason why it's not.

This will help out a lot.

Prices are expected to rise significantly in the coming months.  Just think if we get another terrorist attack what it could do then.  And America states that that Homeland Security isn't in their top five things to consider when choosing a president!!

Yes It's true. Gas is $6 a gallon in Newport Beach Calif. It will be $9 a gallon by July 2008..Bread is now $5 a loaf and milk is $5 a gallon. Believe me when I say we are in trouble. I'm about to lose my house. I wish I was dead.

I highly doubt that is true. The prices where I live are just starting to breach $4, so to jump six more dollars would not only take quite a while, it would also crash the economy of California, since there is a lot of agriculture here; no one could afford to eat if it did go over $10.
