  1. I think you're confused or have been misled by a sales pitch.

There is a company called "Global Domains International." That company registers and sells domain names. One of the domains that they sell is the .ws domain (domains that are registered in Western Samoa).

Inc.com chose this company, Global Domains International, as one of their fastest growing private companies in 2007.

I personally don't like the looks of them. They seem to be using false advertising by implying that large companies such as KMart, Bose, etc., somehow do business with them. I don't believe that's true. If you go to www.kmart.ws, www.bose.ws, etc., those are not legitimate sites belonging to those companies. They're false domains maintained by the Global Domains company. Even if this isn't strictly illegal for them to do, it's definitely unethical.

I don't see any way of "joining" Global Domains. Do you mean you plan to buy your own domain from them and use it to make money somehow? I'd suggest you buy from a reputable source instead, such as any of the many companies listed on the authorized InterNIC list:

    http://www.internic.net/regist.html

Note that Global Domains is *not* included on that list. That should be a warning flag for you.

  2. This company probably had to choose .ws because .com

was already taken-You can go to the  godaddy website to verify this.
