  2. yes it does happen in classrooms but then again a lot of work in classrooms involves discussion so it works well, as long as children raise their hands and wait their turn which they find really hard to do!

I agree with all of the above but also to add Irish people get bored quickly and are used to a fast pace of conversation so they don't mean to be rude but it is hard to wait until someone finishes speaking especially if they speak slowly!

  3. Really that is just ignorance to interrupt someone without knocking them out

  4. oh yes

  5. Sometimes. I find it happens more with young - to - middle-aged women. LOL!

  6. Yeah that happens all the time!! Can't stop talking for 5mins! :D

  9. Us Irish love to talk, I'm 15 and in school I often have 4 convos at the one time! I agree with Anto, especially in class! In class I can talk to the person beside me, da girlies infront of me, the teacher AND another girl across from me!!

  10. I never noticed it before, only when I was in Galway

  11. LOL, now that you say it, it is true,we never stop, no matter what age or gender. (2 yr old nephew and 63 yr old mother as prime examples)  I would not say its an interruption either, just a sharing of ideas once they come to mind, which is probably why some people see the Irish as witty.

The people you met were being friendly,  now, if they didn't say anything to you then I'd think they were being unfriendly and I'd start to worry .

  12. yes,we need to shut up sometimes we are always blabbering about something...

  13. Sure that's true - but it's also known as 'craic' - jeez we never shut up, we just keep on going on and on. Some people from overseas love it and others find it slightly off putting as you did.

  14. I suppose that is true of Women Especially.Men in a Group having a friendly Argument about Sport like Horse Racing ,Football Soccer, Gaelic Football, or Women,or who is best at getting GIrlfriends and then after awhile they all talk at cross purposes to each other if they think someone is getting the better of them.

  15. Yes this does happen.

The problem for non-Irish people is that they don't know how to listen quickly enough!!!!!!!

  16. I'm Irish. i never noticed it before but I suppose your right.

  17. probably true of irish females, lol, i can never keep up with them either

  18. HELLO..LIKE if a rooms full with 20people,it would be rather boring if just 1person spoke at a time...this is suck a retarded question..sort yourself out

  19. yup! i'm 17 and that is really what my conversations with my friends are like. i didn't realise it untill you said it like that! its just that we irish people are real chatter boxes (well most of us really) i mean we talk to a complete stranger when we are in a queue for something...no joke. its just d norm here. most of us are really friendly n just talk talk talk!
