I guess people really do have pet hedgehogs, and they keep them in a cage like a hamster, lol.

I didn't find anything about a license to own one, though.

  12. why on earth would you want a hedgehog as a pet.

they    sleep  for most of the year.

  13. Yes you can have a hedgehog as a pet in the US. They are an exotic animal that is available at some pet stores. You don't need a license though.

  14. many people in the us have them you can get them at some of the pet stores

  15. yes i was going to get an albino hedgehog. there are special breeders around that sell them. you can buy them from quite a lot of reptile breeders or  snake breeders.

  16. Do you have wild ones in England?

I grew up in Germany and was used to seeing them in the wild occasionally, so of course I thought they were no big deal and it never occurred to me that they could be pets.

There are no wild hedgehogs in the US.

I was very surprised the first time I saw them in large chain pet stores.

I do not think they make really great pets though, but that's just my personal preference.

They are considered exotics and depending on where you live a license IS required if you decide to keep one.

  17. You don't need a licence for a dog in the UK so I don't imagine you'd need one for a hedgehog...

They get fleas really easily and you can't exactly cuddle them though so I'd stick to pets of the canine variety if I were you!

  18. Yes, you can have them as pets in the US. They're not super-common, but some people do have them.

Some states have laws that say you need a license to own one, and others have laws that say you only need a license if you're going to be breeding them. Still other states have no regulations at all and anyone can own and breed them without a license. It all depends on the individual laws of any given state.

  19. Yah you could have a hedgehog in the US but I've never heard of having to get a license to have one tho.  Just go down to your local pet store Im sure that they would know if you need to have one or not

  20. I dunno about having a hedgehog as a pet as such, but I do know that you can adopt a hedgehog from some hedgehog rescue places if you can give them a secure garden to live in, but these would only be the ones that have recovered from injury or are in some way unable to be released back into the wild.

  21. They are a bit sharp to cuddle, I believe that you can get rubber bungs to place on the end of each 'spike' to protect yourself while playing with the hedgehog.
