ok so i asked a question not too long ago about me thinking i might be pregnant. well i took one of those at home tests and it came out negative. i'm still not convinced though and i'm waiting to see if i get my period next week like i'm supposed to. i told my boyfriend that the test came out negative and he said that sometimes it doesn't show right away if you are, especially if you're going to have a girl. has anyone else ever heard of that before? also, if i don't get my period next week then i'm for sure going to take another test, and go to a doctor. but i know they will want to do the whole blood test thing and the sounds of that just scares me. how much blood do they need? do they have to take a certain amount out of you or what?

  1. Never heard of that, and I had girls both times and got positives as early as 3 weeks after conception.  I think your BF is just trying to make you crazy.  You're right to wait and see if you get your period, that's the only sure way to know.

  2. That's not true, I used a home preg test 5 days after I missed my period and it was positive, I had a girl.

And if you are pregnant then you had better get used to having blood taken, you get heaps of tests throughout a pregnancy.

  3. why dont u just wait for your period to come "next week" like you said. maybe if you miss your period all together and the pregnancy tests all come back negative even after you haven't gotten your period then you can talk about seeing a doctor.

  4. Never heard about the thing about the girls.

  5. I don't think that's true about girls, but I know some tests don't work that early no matter what it says on the box

you should wait till a couple days after your missed period and then you will know for sure

try the clear blue digital tests, they are really clear and easy

  6. idk about that ????

  7. Having the test come out negative because the s*x of the baby is a girl is bogus. The same hormone is detected in a pregnancy test regardless of s*x. However, it is a possibility that you took the test too early in your cycle. Wait until the day that you are supposed to start your period. If you don't get it by then, take a test using the urine from first thing in the morning. (I personally wouldn't bother testing before then, because it might come up with a false reading). If you do go for a blood test, yes they are more accurate. They only take one vial of blood, a very minimal amount.

    Good Luck!

  8. never heard that about girls.... they take  a small vile of blood, sometimes they just have u pee in a cup.
