  1. The reality is different than what the major news outlets report....

see... you have the polls of  registered voters, which means nothing....

then you have polls of likely voters.....which nobody is reporting

considering the polls being reported can be off 5-6% off and now it seems to be much more of a statistical dead heat, which really means no condidate has a big mandate for change....

remember the whole "vote or die" push a few years ago.....you can push for voter registration all you want, but unless the newly registered voters can txt msge their vote, it ain't going to happen........voting is just like jury duty(look up on YA on how to get out of jury duty)

  2. Hey look at this one completed today. http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews1547.h...

    It says otherwise.

"Brash McCain pick of AK Gov. Palin neutralizes historic Obama speech, stunts the Dems' convention bounce

UTICA, New York - Republican John McCain's surprise announcement Friday of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate - some 16 hours after Democrat Barack Obama's historic speech accepting his party’s presidential nomination -  has possibly stunted any Obama convention bump, the latest Zogby Interactive flash poll of the race shows.

The latest nationwide survey, begun Friday afternoon after the McCain announcement of Palin as running mate and completed mid-afternoon today, shows McCain/Palin at 47%, compared to 45% support for Obama/Biden.

In other words, the race is a dead heat."

  3. They expected a poll jump after the convention.  And I'm sure there will be a poll jump for McCain/Palin after their convention.

People are already making judgments about Palin, but we have yet to see in action debating Biden.  Perhaps she will show herself to be incompetent.  But she might surprise everyone & prove herself to be a better choice than him.

My point is that it's way too early to tell if McCain made a good choice or bad choice.  Let's get thru the convention & see some debates before we decide anything.

  4. It was a desperate pick that's going to fail miserably come November. Sad but true.

  5. That's bad news for McCain because once voters see more of her and how unqualified she istheir margin will erode some more

  6. ADD-ON:

Is CNN also conservatively biased when they report the Palin selection canceled out the Obama  bounce?

Actually Zogby has the GOP ticket 2 points ahead.  And if you don't buy that, CNN today says that the Palin selection almost exactly balanced out Obama's post-speech bounce. Read and weep:

"A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Sunday night shows the Obama-Biden ticket leading the McCain-Palin ticket by one point, 49 percent to 48 percent, a statistical dead heat.

The survey was conducted Friday through Sunday, after both the conclusion of the Democratic convention and McCain’s selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

A previous CNN poll, taken just one week earlier, suggested the race between Sens. McCain, R-Arizona, and Obama, D-Illinois, was tied at 47 percent each.

“The convention — and particularly Obama's speech — seems to be well-received. And the selection of Sarah Palin as the GOP running mate, also seems to be well-received. So why is the race still a virtual tie? Probably because the two events created equal and opposite bounces — assuming that either one created a bounce at all,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland."

  7. If there's a pull, she's dragging the polls downstairs. Read how McCain reacts when being asked about the credibility of his VP candidate - no wonder this happens when you select a puppet for the far right with no credentials.

  8. Well, after reading these answers, it occured to me that McCain/Palin haven't stunted the democratic convention, but mother nature has sure put a kink in McCain's big whup-t-do. And to all you McCainites, no, democrats don't have an inside connection with mother nature. BTW, all of the polls I have looked at today are showing Obama is still going strong.

  9. Obama is ahead that much in many different polls, republicans!

Go check it out yourself on this unbiased site:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/...

  10. Hmmm ... today's polls show Obama with a 1 and 2 point lead respectively.

Looks like Obama's bounce is vanishing rapidly.

As a matter of fact, when McCain gets his bounce, I believe Obama will go into the negative.

I think Palin might have helped McCain out a little bit .....

Obama should have chosen Hillary ..... cuz he is going to lose his a@@ now!

  11. Not really

I would say wait until after ther Repub. Convention, maybe next week at the earliest to really see the effect

  12. I am hoping it holds up.

Having a very old cancerous President with the least experienced VP in history would be very frightening.

  13. My hats off to you being a top contender, i have often wondered contender for what ?? is there any benefit at all to having  the highest

% etc..i'm being very serious here, u can see i have only been on this

site approx. 2months, and i am curious..please if u would, add to your details, Thank You.

Regarding the % you cite i have 4 different polls show Obama and Biden ahead by 2% i certainly wouldn't be bragging about that for Love or money, with the 100's of thousands of $$$ invested in the

DNC..which i loved the fireworks, awesome...i digress...just coming off a weeks straight DEM..DEM...DEM...He did not get the traditional

bump as in past conventions, far below the average --norm 15-to 20%

is par for the course...this is bad news for Obama, and in spite of one of the people that answered,Sarah Palin knocked Obama off the

front page less than 24hrs after the convention there have been no solid tracks made since the convention -underperforming bigtime  ...Republicans haven't even had there convention and McCain

Looking like the Statesman he is,,,, will be 15 to 20% higher than

Obama this time next week,,,,,want a little wager ??

  14. She's only spoken twice since she was brought on to the McCain ticket.

  15. 6 points is all. On the heals of the  largest political orgy in U.S. history. obama is only up 6 points. obama/biden are toast. They should be up 15 points at least. This proves Palin is the wisest choice that John McCain could have made.Too bad you only believe left wing pollsters.

  16. People still don't know too much about Palin, don't worry, when they find out they'll support her.

I mean, she has more executive experience than the Democrat Presidential nominee..and she's just a VP nominee!

    Go Palin!!

  17. The percentage in difference depends of which poll you choose to submit to.  To answer your question though, we will see a better picture of what the Palin choice will be after the RNC.

  18. rammussens has it at 40 % to 45% obama. so much for the big bounce! even kerry was ahead by 15 points at this point!
