  1. there would be no point of throwing nails onto your drive so u should speak to him to see if theres a reason but theres probally not .this would be vandlism and if they were pointing up they could really hurt someone so speak to him straight away if he carrys on doing it then really complain and then if he carrys on doing it threaten him by saying you will call the police then if he carrys on doing it call the police but it would depend on if is only 1 or 2 nails or loads

  2. could  be,   gather  them  up  and  take  back  and  say  think  you  may  have  lost  these  found  them  on  my  drive  or  something  similar    subtle   but  keep  smiling  if  it keeps  happening  take  down  to  local  police  station  and  report  it  ..

  3. If no damage was actually caused, eg. damage to vehicle, injury etc., then I wouldn't have thought so.

If damage has been caused then it would be worth investigating further.

  4. Yes, like the first person said you must be able to prove it was him.  My house was flooded when I was gone one day.  My neighbors hose was the only one that could reach my house.  Because no one saw him do it he could not be cited for it.

  5. yes definatley, it could puncture car tyres or injure your children or pets i would try and speak to him first if he carrys on write down everything he does then report him

  6. yes

    intent to cause criminal damage

    but can u prove it?

  7. Yes it is because nails can puncture somebody's car tires if the person driving isn't looking.

  8. If this is the first occasion something like this has happened why not gather up the nails and go to your neighbour asking for his help. Ask if he has had any nails thrown on to his property or seen any suspicious youngsters hanging around. Ask his professional opinion on the nails whether they are a common type or something that might be traced. Ask whether he thinks you ought to go to the police about them.

If he is innocent he will be flattered at being asked for help and you will make a friend. If he did throw the nails he will be warned that you take such things seriously and he might be caught if he does anything again.

  9. not sure what that is considered, but if there was damage caused (flat tire or scrape in paint job) then you defenitly have a case for something.

  10. (Assuming you are in the UK)

I'm guessing that there is a problem between you and your neighbour - otherwise you wouldn't be asking.

You might want to consider contacting your local community mediation service to help resolve the underlying issues.

  11. Most definitely. I would report him for vandilism on private property.

  12. I think it depends on whether or not you can prove he did it.  It seems like kind of a weak case as it is.  If he had a history of doing things like that, then it would be more believable.

  13. Yes, because it could have cause damage to a person or their property.  unfortunately, if you can't prove he did it, you're out of luck.

  14. you cant just jumb to conclusions but if u have good reason to believe he did it then yes it can be a form of vandalism or intent to vandalize

  15. Yep, a deliberate attempt to cause damage to someone or something like an animal - I would either go and say something to him, call the police or even keep a diary of things he does and go to a solicitor!!!!

  16. I think there is a little bit more to this story,

Never do anything to antagonise a neighbour, it's not worth it.  Just pick up the nails and try to forget about this.

A dispute with a neighbour can make your life h**l. It can eat you up and give you health problems.
