Is this venue supposed to be the New-Improved substitute for Yahoo's Messageboards?

I too hope that this is not Yahoo's final answer to the message forums.

This one is painful to navigate - is not tied to any particular news topic - and the point system is mind numbing!

In answer to your question, Google Groups and Gather are about all I've found thus far - though I haven't really searched that hard.

I'm hoping that public outcry will reach Neil Budde at Yahoo and cause him to reconsider.

The European boards are still active - uk.messages.yahoo.com - for example.

Apparently our English cousins are not on a "time out" as we are.

I hope not. Yahoo Answers is dominated by young people asking about boy-girl issues. too funny!

I don't have an answer except to say that if these are the new message boards, yahoo is in big trouble.
