Is this weird or not?(Guys please answer)?

Question

Now I'm a girl but in my room I have 2 Katana's, 2 Tanto's and a pair of Sais so far (and I'm planning on getting more). I'm in love with swords, knifes, and daggers. Now is it weird for a girl to have those things in her room because, some of my friends think that it's weird for me to have all of that in my room because I'm a girl?

I have a weapon for you the NAGINATA  a light halberd (5 to 8 ft pole with a 18 to 24 inch blade on the end) designed for women in medeival japan to protect the home when her samurai husband was away.

It would be difficult if not impossible to find instruction in the west but they can be ordered thru some martial arts supply outlets .BEAUTIFUL AND DRAMATIC LOOKING many very good swordsman fell to it's longer reach when in expert hands.

Even has sparring as in kendo which I think you should take lessons in .Makes the weapon come alive rather than a decoration.

I had a friend who took kendo and one day he was sparring with another student and every move he made was countered and he was getting some strong whacks on the head (they wear armour and use bamboo swords to spar).After the match and his opponent removed the head gear he was shocked to find out he had been "killed" several times by the sensei's 16 year old daughter.

Being a female doesn't make it weird, you just may not be that much of a girly type of girl. So what?

I think it's weird when I see adult women with teddy bears still on there beds, but it happens. Different strokes for different folks.

If you like them then don't worry about what anybody else thinks, because that is your bit of the world and there you should be able to do and be exactly as YOU want.

i have a female friend who collects all sorts of weapons especially swords. but she also trains  and knows how to use them and all are sharp.

No, your not weird, unless your an EMO or goth.  If your normal, and have that stuff, that is pretty cool.  

My daughter has nunchakus and a bo staff.

As long as your not doing anything weird with the swords, knifes, and daggers its cool.

I think its pretty cool that you collect them.

Just don't get too excessive with them.

Nothing wrong with that at all.  Martial arts/weaponry are for everyone.

Blades/swords/katanas have an appeal towards all, not just males.

lol.. One of the reasons I recently got married was because my wife shared my love of Weapons.

I Also have quite the collection of weapons, but my wife does too.

There's nothing wrong with appreciating the martial weapons, so long as its a healthy hobby, and no one gets hurt, sure why not?

nothing wrong with likeing this stuff, but i will say this... look for quality.  my collection of butterfly knives and swords is small, but you wont find any of them in a "bud-k" catalog.  stay away from cheap, be proud of your collection.  and if you ever get into throwing knives, one work... Gil Hibben... okay, you know what i mean.    :)

I dont find it weird at all. I acctually find it kind of hot. I am personally obsessed with sharp things as well. Now that I think about it I'm probably not the best one to answer this question.

No weirder than it is for anyone else. For safety's sake, I wouldn't keep them on display, though. Too tempting for those who are criminally inclined.
