Is this weird??????

Question

When I'm older I want to Work at a zoo to be with the animals and work with them and make friends with them. When I tell people this most of them laugh. Is my dream weird or are they right?

What is weird about wanting to work at a Zoo?   I've found that most people only feel comfortable if you tell them  things that are considered " normal", like "I want to be a doctor or a lawyer"  but if you say , " I want to travel by bicycle for a year" or " I don't watch American Idol"  they look at you like you are crazy  .  Do what you want to do and forget about what others think. I know sometimes this is easier said than done but I always try .

I think its great that you want to do this - especially that you want to make friends with the animals! Good on you. Dont worry about those other people, they are probably going to go on to do boring jobs with no passion. Your dream is not weird. Follow your instinct. I totally believe you can make friends with animals. They have souls and feelings just like us.

umm well i wouldnt say its weird but what probably makes them laugh is when you tell them that u want to make friends with the animals..i mean it just sounds weird.. but working in a zoo could be fun!

Normality is relative and can be quite limiting, in short, don't give a d**n if people think it is weird. I myself love animals and I think it's a great idea.
