Obama May Bring Criminal Charges Against Bush

By: Jim Meyers

Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden said he and presidential hopeful Barack Obama could bring criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued, Biden said during a campaign stop in Florida on Monday, ABC News reported.

Not out of vengeance, not out of retribution. Out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president no one is above the law.

Biden promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with "a fine-toothed comb" and pursue criminal charges if necessary.

Democrats in Congress have issued subpoenas this year to senior Bush administration aides as part of an investigation into the authorization of torture tactics at the detention center in Guantanamo Bay.

And Obama vowed in April that if elected, he would ask his attorney general to investigate Bush administration actions to see if genuine crimes have been committed.

He told the Philadelphia Daily News: If crimes have been committed, they should be investigated.

  1. So he's going to go on a witch hunt and waste Fed's time investigating the Bush administration. Didn't he admit that the surge worked and that the U.S. is fighting a war on terror to Bill O'Reilly.

  2. If Obama is so worried about the past , then how can he possibly move forward and institute all of his changes ? He can't . Man this is really getting tacky when the next president is waiting and plotting to find something on Bush to bring him dow . He still will receive his pension and will move on . Do not forget the past ever , but use it wisely to make the future better .

  3. Yes, and I heard a recording of him denying that he said that today.

Least they have both sides covered.

  4. losers mentality

  5. Made for gullible people, who make up their minds and then look for evidence.  We find them at the top of our government and farther down the food chain.

This is something we cannot ignore.  This is very

    Thought Provoking.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality That they imagine that America can suffer defeat Without any inconvenience to themselves.

    Pause a moment, reflect back.

These events are actual events from history.

    They really happened!!!

    Do you remember?

    1. 1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed

  6. Gotta catch Bush before he fleas to his Paraguay hideaway.

  7. I think they sealed it for McCain to get elected by doing this...

  8. You bet it is.

  9. For the life of me, I can't imagine why they would focus on this because it is nonsense.  Especially if it has to do with the war in Iraq, you know the same intelligence that JOE BIDEN SAW AND VOTED FOR THE WAR!

Liberals kill me.  It would be funny if our lives weren't at stake.

  10. Well, your question asks a very controversial topic.

I personally think that the ideas of seeking out mistakes and illegal works in office is something that is very necessary, but we as people should expect our government to do that, not cheer for them when they do.

Although I do not agree with Americas wars and occupations using them to gather force and votes is expected, especially due to the fact that the war is not a popular thing in the world right now.

I guess we should not assume though that just because a candidate is campaigning under a premise that the Bush administration will fall under scrutiny for any acts committed in office does not mean that these charges and allegations are true or matter. It is again just a foolish tactic to gain votes by rallying under the dislike for Bush.

I was watching the news from Oregon, it was quite funny actually, candidates are arguing about office furniture and spending attached. That is one thing I would count as meaningless but it is just a form to gather votes.

Again, I think it is a good idea that the government is looking at itself with a fine toothed comb simply because it demands that people are accountable for their actions and that accountability will allow for a better government system to run.

Although it is so foolish to me that Obama-Biden is running a campaign under these ideas, it is a good thing to be willing to look at mistakes and try to avoid them in the future.
