"One of the oldest tricks in the book didn't fool NASCAR Saturday night. Before the race, inspectors found lead in the Gatorade bottles in J.J. Yeley's No. 96 Toyota, the idea being to jettison the bottles and lighten the car after the race starts. NASCAR held the car on pit road until the second pace lap and then made Yeley serve a stop-and-go penalty on pit road. He finished 24th."

do you think the penalty fit the crime?

i think nascar should have made him drink the gatorade...lead and all...

  1. Rowdy doesn't need to cheat!

  2. This is one case of cheating where the driver is definitely in on it. I'm disappointed in Yeley.

  3. not like he wouldve won and nobody would be suspicious if J.J. Yeley wins

  4. It meant that last night! I agree that the punishment was not enough. Cheating like that requires cooperation of several people including the driver. I would have told them to take that car home and get it right by next week. No laps for them at all last night if I had my way.

  5. See now, how come blatant cheating like that gets a slap on the wrist. But, "gray areas" being explored get huge fines, point deductions, and suspension of crew chiefs??

I guess I shouldn't jump the gun. NASCAR might dish out more penalties come Tuesday.

  6. i was watching racebuddy and noticed his car surrounded by officials so i knew something was up.

  7. I wonder what that JJ fan with the multi accounts will say...???  lol  Maybe we have heard the last of it.  Oooor...that someone planted the bottle in the car...someone who is jealous of JJ and afraid JJ will just run away with that trophy. lol

OK..I am disappointed in JJ..  Shoot.  I know he is a nice enough guy but when a driver gets caught red handed...well it's a whole new ballgame.    We can forgive a driver for his crew chiefs stupid mistakes because the driver usually hasn't a clue whats going on...but when the driver does know...and goes along with it.  My respect for him took a nose dive.

  8. simple, stop dragging yer' *** around, and put the peddle to da metal........
