Is this why my good kitties started Peeing on things?

I am a proud owner of 5 healthy and happy kitties! They have multiple clean litter boxes and we have never had a problem. Recently things at my apartment have gotten a little stirred up, with my boyfriend getting ready to move. He is going to law school. The apartment is a wreck, and stuff has been moved all around. Could this be the reason for their change in behavior? Or is their another problem I should be looking for?

Is there anything I can do to make this easier for them?

  1. Well, your cats are a bit unhappy because you have been giving your boyfriend attention and you have been busy with moving homes. I think your cats would like a bit more attention. cuddle with them in your free time or play with them.

    hope this helped!

  2. try to keep things as normal as you can cats are sensitive to change, they are marking things as this makes them feel secure.i have three cats and they do this when we redecorate or move anything around ,they should stop once things settle down.

  3. If you stop feeding and giving water to drink to your kitties you will solve this problem.~~

  4. Absolutely! Cats can sense change a mile away, even stuff wasn’t all over the place and the longer the build up to the change the more they start acting up. Every time my husband and I go on vacation (even for a weekend) my cat starts going crazy. She just knows, even before the suit case comes out.

However, they are kittens? How old are they? Are any of them male? Could they be getting to the point where they are old enough to start becoming territorial. With 5 it may take them some time to work it out with each other. Lots of peeing until they all know whos space is whoms. Try encouraging marking in other ways. Cats for Dummies has tons of ideas, so does the link below. The males may be in heat or need to be neutered.
