Question:

Is this year's Swiss Spaghetti Harvest over yet?

My mom told me she saw a show on the BBC when she was young about the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest. It's sometime in late March of early April, she can't remember when. I've always liked spaghetti, and I want to see how it is harvested.

Is it over yet, or can I still come see it?

  1. Furd,  No, you should arrive in Switzerland at the perfect time for the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest .

Nothing more awe inspiring than  Swiss mountains covered with spaghetti  gently blowing in the wind.  :)

  2. The harvest begins and ends on May 16th.  There is plenty of Parmesan cheese for all, but bring gloves.  Those darn spaghetti's don't go quietly!

  3. I don't know but I have a link to that BBC program.

  4. Does it happen around the same time as the Swiss Steak Roundup?

  5. Ah, good times....I'll never forget my first trip to the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest.

You should be right on time if you leave now.  Be sure to dress appropriately.  The fields are ladened with sauce.  Bring your own meatballs.

  6. The season starts after March 31 and lasts for just one day.

  7. The Spaghetti Harvest is a load of c**p!  Big Business abusing the little man, forcing slave labor to harvest their spaghetti crops in sub-standard conditions!

    BAN THE HARVEST!

  8. Isn't that the same day they release the mice to chew up the cheese??

I think it's in April sometime...

  9. Oh, my husband and I attended the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest on our honeymoon. There's nothing as romantic as gathering your own spaghetti and cooking it for that first meal as husband and wife.

Thanks for reminding me of that wonderful time.....
