Question:

Is ti possible to go from public U to Harvard, JHU, Yale Med schools?

the profiles at this schools have people from the small colleges in New England and other Ivies.

I was thinking about UCLA

  1. It doesn't matter if the undergraduate school you go to is public or private.  It does matter if it is good or bad.

    Going to any highly regarded university will be a plus in getting into a prestigious medical school, while going to a third or fourth tier school will hurt your chances.

    Going to a public school like a CSU will kill any chance of getting into a highly regarded Medical School.  However, UCLA is a top 25 school in the US and would help you in your quest.  In fact, any of the UC schools would be good.

Yes, you can if you had really good undergraduate grades and awesome MCAT scores.  My dad's roomate in college had a 4.0 and only missed like 3 questions on his MCATs and the only school he didn't get into was Harvard.  I'm pretty sure you have to be a legacy to get in there, but other schools you can get into if you proved yourself in undergrad.  It wont matter to them where you went as long as its evident that you are intelligent.
